EAR X-TACY

Last week there was a press conference at a record store. The owner of Ear X-Tacy in Louisville, with the in-person support of local musicians, customers, and fans (like Jim James of My Morning Jacket) didn’t beat around the bush: he came right out and asked for the support of his community. Not a handout, not charity: support. In the form of buying their music at their local record store. In the form of spending their money at a locally owned, neighborhood shop, and thus ensuring that one more local business survives. Which serves to strengthen that neighborhood in innumerable ways. We think John Timmons says it pretty well, so we encourage you to check it out below. And we encourage you to take a look at your own local shops, record and otherwise. Show your love.
