Sometimes a record store has extra special reasons to visit, and here's some of them:

JENNY AND JOHNNY   Jenny Lewis (perhaps you know her from her solo releases or her band Rilo Kiley?) and Jonathan Rice (perhaps you know him from his own singer-songwriter records?) are a couple in “real life” and they’re putting out a happy little record called I’M HAVING FUN NOW  on August 31, and to add to the fun, select indie record stores have a happy little button pack for you, with purchase, while supplies last.   See the happy DISCLAIMER.

DISTURBED  Can you believe it’s been a decade of Disturbed? It’s been ten years since the release of the Sickness, and now the band has progressed and returned with Asylum (in stores  8/31). Select indie record stores will have a poster for you, free with purchase while supplies last. Certain to look excellent adorning the walls of your own personal ASYLUM.  (DISCLAIMER)

MURDERDOLLS  Only the second release from Slipknot’s Joey Jordison and the lovely Wednesday 13, but some of you are already clamoring for WOMEN AND CHILDREN LAST. It’ll be out on 8/31, and some indie record stores have a very Murderdolls-ish poster.  (Believe it: if you’re clamoring for the record, you’re gonna LOVE this). Limited quantity of course, as the best things in life often are, but free with purchase. See the DISCLAIMER, as always.   

 

ANBERLIN   On 9/7 Anberlin release their new album DARK IS THE WAY. LIGHT IS A PLACE and participating record stores have a DOOZY of a special gift for you. It’s a special single—CD or vinyl, you ask? BOTH, we say. Vinyl on one side, CD/DVD on the other! Featuring “Impossible” on the vinyl side, and an unreleased track and the “Impossible” video on the other! (see the DISCLAIMER, please and thank you). Oh, and Anberlin are doing a little indie record store in-store tour.
