READY TO GO 'BACK TO BLACK FRIDAY'?

The holiday season, like it or not, is about to descend. And of course the big kick-off is Black Friday, when everyone shakes off the food coma to head out to the stores and forage for gifts. Once again, we’d like to recommend that one of your stops be your favorite local record store. And once again, we’re happy to announce that a some really kind, cool, impressive artists want you to do the same thing—and they’ve created releases that are only available at those stores this season, to encourage you to head on in and visit. There are indeed some really special pieces here, things that you’ll want to put on your own wish list, and things that you’ll want to wrap up for those you love.

We’ve also created a little FAQ sheet HERE and you should check it out. It will tell you things like how this is NOT Record Store Day Mach Deux, or RSD Jr, or anything like that. This is a terrific street date of great releases that can only be found at real live record stores. Yes, these pieces are limited, and indeed, some may sell out, and of course, the stores won’t all stock every piece. All stores are different and know their customers, and they will bring in the things they think are right for their store. Mostly, our goal is to remind folks that locally owned, independent record stores, like those that are listed on the site, are a GREAT place to celebrate the holidays, do a little gift-shopping (for yourself or others), support your community, and maybe pick up something really special. And really, that applies all year-round.
NOTE: We feel strongly enough about this that we’re going to say it again: NOT ALL STORES WILL STOCK ALL ITEMS. ALL STORES ARE DIFFERENT AND MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS. Also, this site is the home of Record Store Day in the US. The titles listed are available to stores in the US. Not all titles will be available in other countries, and not all the titles released in other countries will be available in the US. Title announcements in other countries will come at different times:
